The Association L’Homme Armé
The Associazione l’Homme Armé was created around the vocal ensemble as an institution that aims to promote the organization and the dissemination of early music and the sponsoring of a sophisticated artistic research.
Since 1994 L’Homme Armé has organized in Florence the Concerti al Cenacolo, the only yearly Early Music season in Tuscany. In 2005 the Association has curated, in collaboration with the Assessorato alla Cultura of the Comune di Firenze, the musical festival Il Suono dell’Anima and since 2008 AntiCONtemporaneo, a festival that is specifically dedicated to the interaction between early and contemparary music.
Since 2017 it organizes FloReMus, International Renaissance Music Festival, held in Florence, a show case of international performers of Renaissance music (Tasto Solo, Guillermo Pérez, Andrew Lawrence-King, Ensemble Janequin, Ensemble Cinquecento, La Pifarescha, La Lauzeta, Ensemble Sollazzo, Ensemble Doulce Mémoire, Ensemble Labyrintho, Dulces Exuviae, European Lute quartet, etc.).
From 1987 the Associazione l’Homme Armé has organized in Florence very successful courses and masterclasses dedicated to the early music repertoire.
Since 2017 it also organizes FloReMus, International Renaissance Music Workshop, a course dedicated to singers and instrumentalists who wish to specialize in the Renaissance musical repertoire.
In the course of the years it has been officially recognized and supported financially by the Comune and Provincia of Firenze, the Regione Toscana, the Ministero per i Beni e le Attività culturali (MIBAC), the Fondazione CR Firenze.
