During the first half of the XVI cent. the young Medici musician composed two Passions. In this concert the Passion according to Matthew will be performed as world première. This work presents a particular example of Florentine style that was being developed during those years alongside the invention of the madrigal. Corteccia became the favourite musician of Cosimo I and is considered to be one of the most accomplished musicians of the Florentine Renaissance.

Omnes amici mei
Caligaverunt oculi mei

Plange quasi virgo
O vos omnes
Ecce quomodo moritur justus
