MARCO MENCOBONI was born in 1961 in Macerata. Harpsichordist, organist and orchestra conductor, he has studied with Umberto Pineschi, Ton Koopman, Jesper Christensen and Gustav Leonhardt with whom he graduated at the Sweelinck Conservatorium of Amsterdam in 1990. He performs regularly as soloist and as director of the ensemble Cantar lontano in the main international early music festivals. In 2019 he will be resident artist at the Early Music Festival of Utrecht were he will produce four different performances of baroque Neapolitan music. Since 2017 he is the director of the Monteverdi Project for the Teatro Manoel of Valletta in Malta where in 2020 he will conduct the Otello by Gioachino Rossini.
