Technique, inspiration, ideal sound, certainly, but the “Josquin miracle” was probably that of succeeding in communicating the unspeakable sublime of faith, of the sacred and the divine, of the otherworldly vision, of the entirety of creation intended as the union of man and nature with God…
The three motets presented in this program can be associated thanks to several elements: first of all the five part setting, the range of the vocal parts (a cantus, three lines of tenor and one of bassus) and the presence of a ‘cantus firmus’ that inserts itself in certain parts of the composition creating an aural architecture that continuously alternates feelings of “full” and “void”…
