FloReMus – Conversation: Music at the court of Francois I, king of France

The conversation will focus on the music at the court of the king of France François I, specifically on the three royal institurions: the Chapelle Royale, a group of singers that served Mass with a sacred repertoire, the Chambre du Roi, a group of instrumentalists and singers who performed chansons, dances and fantasias for the lute inside the Palace and the group of winds, the Écurie du Roi, which performed during official festivities, processions, etc., always outdoors. The conversation will focus also on two important composers, Claudin de Sermisy and Pierre Certon and on the art of strolling in France with the treatise of Adrian Petit Coclico.
