The concert celebrates animal figures in Renaissance vocal music. In the selected passages, of different characters and authors, whether it is high poetry or popular nursery rhymes, whether it is about noble impulses or earthly appetites, the animal is always somehow the “mirror” through which humans play at recognizing their own peculiar character, a need, a desire.
