The program addresses, through a selection of pieces largely linked to Florentine musical practices between the fifteenth and sixteenth centuries, taken from Florentine manuscripts from the very early sixteenth century. The celebration of saints has also spread as a harbinger of symbolic meanings often referred to local contexts, such as the Florentine cult of St. John, the Marian devotion in Milan or that addressed to St. Sebastian as protector from the plague.
