Although at the moment it is almost impossible to know exactly who Jehan de Lescurel was (we know nothing about this Parisian troubadour) we are left with a series of courteous melodies that are included in a famous French illuminated manuscript (the one that contains the Roman de Fauvel). From these traces we discover some of the world of Paris at the beginning of the fourteenth century, at meetings and parties with dances, games and laughter, from which, with the poems and music dedicated to his friends, “Jehan de Lescurel vous salue”.
